Palazzo Strozzi presents "BROKEN - the Power of the Fragment", a major exhibition dedicated to the theme of the fragment in the history of sculpture, from archaeology to contemporary art.

The exhibition is a journey through different places and eras, from the ancient civilizations of the Egyptian, Etruscan, and Greco-Roman worlds to the cultures of present-day Mexico, Mali, Peru, and Cambodia.

The works of leading masters of art history, such as Giovanni Pisano, Michelangelo, and Antonio Canova, are complemented by sculptures by contemporary artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Robert Gober, and Francesco Vezzoli, who have taken the fragment as a starting point for new expressive possibilities.
